The MoLoCo model is based on Lima Serial No. 119, which was built in 1884. It was a 14 ton, three truck coal burning shay. It was the second, and the last, two cylinder three truck shay built by Lima.
Our model comes painted black, with Russian iron boiler, white trim on tender sides and rear, the cab panels, the dome and the headlight. Headlamp is on when running forward, and is out when running in reverse. The tender has a perforated floor and is completely hollow under the tender cover, which is removable. The smoke stack screen cover is easily removed for access, and the smoke box door is easily removed for access. The motor sets about three inches in from the smoke box door, and the motor leads are readily accessible in the boiler. These spaces should ease the installation of sound, smoke and other electronic controls.
We recommended operating on a 4 foot track radius.
Shipping for the shay is $ 90.00 (in the USA). Foreign shipments will be charged at actual cost.
